Quick Answer

What is Canadian Sage?

Canadian Sage is a wood-look SPC floor in a pale warm cream shade, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a durable, easy-care finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Kitchen reality — dropped pots, splashes, and daily mop-and-go cleaning — won't faze the planks, as long as you wipe spills up promptly and dry any standing water. Not approved for outdoor installation; test the subfloor for moisture before installing.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Canadian Sage features a 20 mil wear layer — approximately 0.51 mm — intended for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, delivering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. That's a step above the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Dog nails, cat claws, litter grit, water-bowl splash — Canadian Sage's 20 mil wear layer and finish wipe clean easily and outlast a thinner LVT wear layer under everyday pet traffic. Claws can still leave light surface marks over time like on any hard floor, so trimmed nails and a rug in high-traffic zones help protect the finish.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close the planks of Canadian Sage stay calm: a light feathered figure spreads across each board with long, mostly straight grain and little busyness. Knot character is minimal, with only sparse pin knots and faint mineral flecks breaking the surface. It is a wood-look print that reads refined and consistent from board to board.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1.8mm Bio Guard anti-bacterial EVA acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Canadian Sage is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Will this color work in my room?

Because Canadian Sage leans warm and golden rather than grey, it stays inviting even in a room with soft ambient light and no direct window sun. Under lamplight the cream reads a little deeper and honeyed, while its very-light value keeps a formal sitting room feeling open. It pairs cleanly with cool, dramatic accents -- a deep emerald wall, black furniture -- without fighting them.

Overview

A golden undertone runs through the pale cream of Canadian Sage, a soft honeyed cast that keeps this very-light floor from reading cold. Long, mostly straight grain runs ease into a soft feathered figure, giving the quiet boards gentle movement without busy pattern. In a traditional living room Canadian Sage reads elegant and composed -- a light, warm base for formal, layered furnishings.

A golden-cream floor with a quiet feathered figure, refined enough for a formal room.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
Installed, Canadian Sage lays a pale golden-cream floor beneath a traditional sitting room. A tufted settee and an upholstered armchair in cream sit against a painted emerald green paneled wall, with black console tables and a table lamp adding crisp dark contrast. Framed decor and a rose-and-tulip bouquet complete a formal, classic scene, and the warm floor keeps the whole room feeling both light and inviting.
Will it match my cabinets?
Canadian Sage works especially well with dark furniture and trim -- the black console tables in this room show how its warm cream sets off deep, contrasting pieces. It is just as easy under white or painted cabinetry, where the golden undertone adds a touch of warmth against cooler surfaces.
Will it still look this bright in a windowless basement?
In a room with soft ambient light and no direct window sun, Canadian Sage stays warm rather than turning flat or grey, thanks to its golden cream base. That makes it a comfortable choice for a lamp-lit sitting room, a north-facing space, or a finished basement, where its very-light value also helps keep the room feeling brighter.
Does this floor work with indoor plants?
Canadian Sage gives greenery and fresh flowers a clean, warm backdrop. In this room a single rose-and-tulip arrangement reads clearly against the pale floor, and a statement plant or a few leafy stems would look just as crisp -- the golden cream flatters green without competing with it.
