Throne Collection — 5/8″ Engineered European Oak (Vellichor Floors)

The Throne Collection is the wide-and-long statement line within Vellichor Floors — four bright, coastal-calm European Oak colors (Braavos, Pentos, Riverlands, and Seasmoke) built on 5/8″ engineered planks. Each board pairs a 4mm real-wood European Oak veneer with a cross-layered engineered core for dimensional stability, finished in a clear UV lacquer over a wire-brushed surface that reads open and natural. Boards run an oversized 9.5″ wide by 87″ long with a Tongue & Groove profile, so a room fills with fewer seams and a more expansive, continuous grain. The palette leans warm and pale — three warm blondes and one medium beige, all carrying scattered small-knot character. Every color is water-resistant (not waterproof), backed by a Limited Lifetime Structural warranty, and available to order through our Santa Clara showroom.

Colors in the Throne Collection

Throne stays deliberately light. Braavos, Pentos, and Riverlands are warm blondes — easy, sun-washed pale tones that keep a room feeling open — while Seasmoke settles into a slightly deeper, medium beige for a touch more grounding. All four share the same coastal-calm mood and scattered small-knot character, so they read as a family rather than four unrelated stains. Because the whole palette skews pale and bright, these colors flatter rooms with lots of daylight and make compact spaces feel larger; the product cards below show each color on the wide 9.5″ board so you can judge how the grain and knots carry across a full plank.

Best uses for Throne

  • Bright, sun-filled living rooms — the pale blondes bounce daylight and keep large, open-plan rooms feeling airy rather than heavy.
  • Great rooms and open floor plans — 87″-long, 9.5″-wide boards mean fewer seams across a big span, for a calm, continuous run of grain.
  • Small or low-light spaces you want to open up — light coastal tones visually expand compact bedrooms, hallways, and condos.
  • Whole-home installs across grade levels — the engineered core installs above, on, or below grade, so one floor can run from an upper story down to a finished lower level.
  • Coastal, Scandinavian, and modern-farmhouse interiors — wire-brushed European Oak in warm blondes is a natural fit for bright, relaxed design.
  • Long hallways and entries — the extra plank length runs the length of a corridor with minimal end-joints for a cleaner sightline.

Choosing a color from the Throne Collection

If your room already gets strong daylight, the warm blondes (Braavos, Pentos, Riverlands) amplify that brightness and pair cleanly with white, grey, or natural-wood cabinetry; if you want a little more warmth and definition underfoot, Seasmoke’s medium beige grounds the space without going dark. Remember that a 9.5″-wide board shows its color and small-knot character at a larger scale than a narrow plank, so the whole palette reads bolder on the floor than on a small chip. Before committing, see a full-size sample in the light of your own room, or visit our Santa Clara showroom to compare all four colors side by side.

Frequently asked questions about the Throne Collection

Is Throne flooring waterproof?
No. Throne is real engineered European Oak and is water-resistant, not waterproof. It handles everyday spills and humidity when wiped up promptly, but it should not be exposed to standing water or installed in wet areas. For kitchens and powder rooms, clean up moisture quickly and use mats at sinks and entries.
Can Throne floors be refinished?
Yes. The 4mm real-wood European Oak veneer is thick enough to support 2–3 refinishes over the life of the floor, so scratches and wear can be sanded back rather than replaced. That is a meaningful advantage over floors with a thin wear layer, which cannot be refinished at all.
How is Throne installed, and can it go below grade?
Throne is a Tongue & Groove engineered plank and can be nailed, glued, or floated. Because of its cross-layered engineered core, it can be installed above, on, or below grade — including finished basements — provided the subfloor is flat, dry, and prepared to the installation guidelines.
How much does one carton of Throne cover?
Each carton covers 34.1 sq ft — the largest carton coverage in the Vellichor line, thanks to the oversized 9.5″ × 87″ boards. To estimate cartons, divide your room’s square footage by 34.1 and add roughly 10% for cuts and waste. Our showroom team can confirm the exact quantity for your layout.
What warranty and certifications does Throne carry?
Throne is backed by a Limited Lifetime Structural warranty, a 25-Year Residential Finish warranty, and a 3-Year Light Commercial warranty. It is certified to FloorScore, GREENGUARD Gold, Lacey Act, EPA TSCA Title VI, CARB Phase 2, Zero Formaldehyde, and FSC — a strong indoor-air-quality and responsible-sourcing profile.
