The Mountain Oak Collection is a compact, two-color line within Republic Floor’s SPC lineup at Kapriz — built for buyers who already know the shade they want rather than a wide swatch wall to sort through. Each plank runs 8mm total thickness on a genuine SPC (Stone Polymer Core) with a 20 mil wear layer, in a 9″ x 60″ format joined by an angle-drop click-lock system. A 1.5mm Bioguardian anti-bacterial acoustic EVA pad is pre-attached at the factory, so there’s no separate underlayment to buy or install. The collection is backed by a 25-Year Residential / 10-Year Commercial warranty and FloorScore certification, and it’s available to order through our Santa Clara showroom.

Black Mountain is a genuinely dark, near-black plank with faint warm-brown depth — a rare, distinctive offering in a Republic Floor catalog that otherwise leans light-to-medium, and a real differentiator for anyone set on a dramatic dark floor. Denali sits at the opposite end: a warm greige-brown with soft taupe undertones and a rustic, multi-tone figure that reads more traditional. Between the two, the collection covers a dark-statement option and a warm-neutral option, not a full spectrum in between.

Is the Mountain Oak Collection actually waterproof, or just water-resistant?

It’s genuinely waterproof. The SPC (Stone Polymer Core) does not swell, warp, or absorb water, and there’s no time limit on exposure — it holds up to standing spills in kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms the way real wood and laminate cores cannot.

Can I install Mountain Oak planks over radiant heat?

Yes. The collection is compatible with hydronic and embedded radiant heat systems, as long as the floor’s surface temperature is kept at or below 85 degrees F.

Do I need to buy separate underlayment for these planks?

No. Each plank comes with a 1.5mm Bioguardian anti-bacterial acoustic EVA pad pre-attached, and additional underlayment isn’t permitted on top of it. The one exception is over a concrete subfloor, where a 6-mil poly vapor barrier is mandatory under the planks.

Is this a DIY-friendly installation?

Yes. Mountain Oak installs as a floating angle-drop click-lock floor with no glue or nails, over plywood, OSB, concrete, or an existing fully-adhered hard-surface floor.
