Corsica Mountains Collection — 6.5mm Herringbone SPC (Republic Floor)

The Corsica Mountains Collection is Republic Floor’s herringbone-pattern SPC line — individual 5″ x 30″ angle-cut planks that lock together in the classic chevron layout, for a more tailored, elevated look than straight-plank flooring. Each plank is a 6.5mm total SPC (Stone Polymer Core) build with a 20 mil wear layer and an attached acoustic EVA underlayment, joined with an angle-drop click-lock system that installs without glue or nails. The collection ships in 4 colors across a light-to-medium beige range, is FloorScore certified for indoor air quality, and carries a 50 Years Residential / 10 Years Commercial warranty. Corsica Mountains is available to order through our Santa Clara showroom.

Colors in the Corsica Mountains Collection

The Corsica Mountains Collection’s four colors — Bastia, Filitosa, Montane, and Rocca — stay within a light-to-medium beige range, so every option in the collection reads as a warm, neutral wood tone rather than a sharp contrast. That tight tonal range makes any of the four easy to run through an open floor plan without a jarring color break between rooms, while each color still carries enough of its own character to suit rooms with different light and cabinetry.

Best uses for Corsica Mountains Collection

  • Kitchens & bathrooms — the SPC core is genuinely 100% waterproof with no time limit, so spills and splashes are never a risk to the subfloor.
  • Basements & below-grade rooms — rated for above-grade, on-grade, and below-grade installation, one of the few flooring options that can go below grade.
  • High-traffic, pet-friendly homes — the 20 mil wear layer and attached EVA pad stand up to daily foot and paw traffic.
  • Rentals & multifamily units — the attached acoustic underlayment cuts impact sound transfer between floors, useful where HOA or condo noise rules apply.
  • Radiant-heat floors — compatible with hydronic and embedded radiant systems as long as the surface temperature stays at or below 85 degrees F.

Choosing a color from the Corsica Mountains Collection

Since Bastia, Filitosa, Montane, and Rocca all sit within the same light-to-medium beige family, the choice comes down to how light or how warm you want the room to read rather than picking between contrasting looks. In a room with limited natural light or darker cabinetry, lean toward the lighter end of the range to keep the space feeling open; in a bright, sun-filled room, a slightly deeper tone can ground the space without darkening it. Because SPC color and grain can shift under different lighting, view a physical sample of each color at our Santa Clara showroom before you order.

Frequently asked questions about the Corsica Mountains Collection

Is the Corsica Mountains Collection waterproof?
Yes. The SPC (Stone Polymer Core) is genuinely 100% waterproof, with no time limit on standing water — it holds up to spills and splashes in kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms without swelling or warping.
Can I install Corsica Mountains in a basement or below grade?
Yes. This collection is rated for above-grade, on-grade, and below-grade installation. A 6-mil poly vapor barrier is mandatory under any installation over concrete.
Does Corsica Mountains work with radiant heat?
Yes, it’s compatible with hydronic and embedded radiant heat systems, provided the floor’s surface temperature never exceeds 85 degrees F.
Do I need to add my own underlayment?
No. Every plank ships with an attached acoustic EVA underlayment, and additional underlayment is not permitted. The one required exception is the 6-mil moisture barrier over a concrete subfloor.
Is Corsica Mountains a herringbone floor, and is it hard to install?
Yes — every color in this collection is a herringbone-pattern floor. Individual 5″ x 30″ angle-cut planks click together in the classic chevron layout, giving a more tailored, elevated look than straight-plank flooring. It still uses an angle-drop click-lock system with no glue or nails, but herringbone takes more care (and more waste-factor material) to lay out square than a straight-plank floor, so budget extra time or ask about professional installation. Each carton covers 18.75 sq ft.
