Is it waterproof?
Engineered wood is not waterproof. Its layered core is designed to be more stable than solid hardwood in humid or below-grade spaces, subject to the manufacturer's moisture-testing and installation requirements, yet the wood surface can still be harmed by standing water, so treat it as water-resistant and clean spills quickly.
Can it be refinished?
The veneer is what decides it — that thin layer of real wood is all a sander has to work with. At 3.5mm, Oak Animoso can be professionally sanded and refinished over its life, subject to how much veneer remains and a flooring professional's assessment. Most of the time, though, a buff-and-recoat or a deep clean handles it — save the deeper sand-down for when the floor actually needs it.
