How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?
The plank features a 20 mil wear layer — equal to about 0.51 mm — ideal for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, with excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It runs noticeably thicker than the entry-level wear layers.
Will it hold up to daily life?
Office chair wheels, spike-heel point loads, and dragged furniture all concentrate force. What does the plank surface look like?
Up close the planks show a wavy cathedral grain with pronounced, flowing lines and weathered character marks. A concentric round knot anchors the middle of some boards, ringed by small fissures, scoured wear patches, and long mineral streaks for a salvaged, well-worn look. It is a printed wood-look surface, so that character repeats cleanly plank to plank without the upkeep.
Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?
The 1.5mm Bio Guard anti-bacterial EVA acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Tropical Malaga is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.
