Quick Answer

What is Sessile Oak?

Sessile Oak is a waterproof, wood-look SPC floor in a warm mid-brown shade, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Built for daily life: mop-and-go cleaning, occasional spills, and pet accidents wiped up promptly; clean standing water quickly. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The flooring uses a 20 mil wear layer — which works out to 0.51 mm — a good match for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, delivering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. In everyday use, it's a step up from the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Office chair wheels, spike-heel point loads, and dragged furniture all concentrate force. Protect Sessile Oak's 20 mil wear layer with soft casters (Type W or U), a chair mat in high-use areas, and felt pads under furniture legs — the manufacturer's recommended precautions for keeping a rigid SPC core dent-free.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close the plank surface shows broad, sweeping figure with long open splits tracing the length of the board. Dark-centered knots turn up here and there at a moderate spacing, giving each Sessile Oak plank a bit of rustic character without a busy pattern. The printed surface holds its detail plank to plank, so a full floor stays consistent.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1.5mm Bioguardian anti-bacterial EVA acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Sessile Oak is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Will this color work in my room?

Under bright overhead and midday window light, Sessile Oak lifts toward its warmer tan notes and reads clean and open rather than heavy. In a lower-lit room the mid-brown deepens a little and turns cozier, but it never goes murky. Its warmth is a useful counterpoint to cool whites, blues, and stainless.

Overview

Sessile Oak reads as a warm mid-brown with a soft tan undertone that stays even from board to board. Broad arcing figure and long open splits run the length of each plank, with a few dark-centered knots scattered across the surface for natural-looking variation. The overall effect is clean and professional, so Sessile Oak suits busy commercial and work spaces as easily as a home, and it wears well under steady foot traffic.

A warm tan-brown that keeps a bright, clinical space from reading cold.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
In the photographed space, Sessile Oak runs through a modern lab -- white cabinetry with a navy base trim, glass-walled workstations, and shelves of glassware and microscopes over pale blue walls. Against all that cool white and blue, the warm tan-brown floor keeps the room from feeling sterile, and lab benches, task stools, and rolling chairs read cleanly on top of it. It is a good example of Sessile Oak in a bright, hard-working commercial setting.
Will it match my cabinets?
Yes. Sessile Oak sits comfortably under white cabinetry -- the warm tan-brown gives crisp white a bit of warmth instead of letting it read cold. A navy base or dark trim looks sharp against the mid-brown, so a white-and-navy scheme works well over this floor.
Will it still look this bright in a windowless basement?
In a windowless or low-light room, Sessile Oak's mid-brown deepens slightly and turns a little cozier, but its tan undertone keeps it from going flat or dull. Warm overhead lighting brings the color back up, and an even mix of ceiling light is plenty to keep it looking clean.
