Quick Answer

What is Aspen?

Aspen is a rigid, wood-look SPC floor in a warm tan beige shade, with a durable, heavy-traffic wear layer for a simple, carefree finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Built for daily life: mop-and-go cleaning, occasional spills, and pet accidents wiped up promptly; clean standing water quickly. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The surface is topped by a 20 mil wear layer — approximately 0.51 mm — appropriate for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, so you get excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. In everyday use, it's a step up from the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Office chair wheels, spike-heel point loads, and dragged furniture all concentrate force. Protect Aspen's 20 mil wear layer with soft casters (Type W or U), a chair mat in high-use areas, and felt pads under furniture legs — the manufacturer's recommended precautions for keeping a rigid SPC core dent-free.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close, each Aspen plank runs a flowing cathedral figure of long sweeping peaks, the arcs varying enough that each board keeps its own look. Small dark-centered knots dot the face at a moderate spacing, most trailing a short fissure or two. The printed wood-look surface keeps that variation crisp plank to plank rather than falling into an obvious repeat.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1.5mm Bioguardian anti-bacterial EVA acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Aspen is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Will this color work in my room?

In indirect, low-window light Aspen reads soft and even, its taupe-warmed tan staying warm without sliding toward orange or gold. Away from direct daylight the color eases a shade deeper toward a cozy taupe-tan, and evening lamps bring the warmth forward. That calm mid-warm read makes Aspen a forgiving floor under saturated, layered color.

Overview

Long sweeping cathedral arcs run the length of each Aspen board, dotted with small dark-centered knots and the fine fissures that trail them. The tan-beige field has a quiet taupe undertone that keeps its warmth calm rather than golden. In a transitional living room, Aspen reads as a warm, easygoing base that lets bolder colors do the talking.

A warm tan-beige canvas that lets burgundy, chartreuse, and mustard sing above it.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
Installed, Aspen sits under a bold, eclectic mix: a deep burgundy sofa, a dark carved mahogany chest, and chartreuse-and-mustard pillows against warm off-white walls. A framed gallery wall and a tall reed vase round out the transitional, collected look. The floor's warm tan-beige keeps all that saturated color from feeling heavy, giving the room a calm footing while the burgundy and mustard lead.
Will it match my cabinets?
Aspen pairs easily with dark mahogany. Against a deep mahogany cabinet or trim, the floor's lighter tan-beige gives a warm two-tone contrast that reads intentional rather than matched, and the shared warmth keeps the pairing cohesive. It also works with lighter cream or painted cabinetry if you want the floor to stay quiet.
Will it still look this bright in a windowless basement?
With little direct window light, Aspen keeps its warmth well; the taupe-tan does not go gray or flat the way cooler floors can in a basement or low-light room. It reads a touch deeper and cozier in those conditions, so warm lamplight brings the tan forward.
Does this floor work with indoor plants?
Yes. Aspen's warm neutral tan is an easy companion for greenery; a single statement plant or the room's tall reed stems read crisp against it without any color clash. Deep greens in particular pop against the warm tan-beige.
