Quick Answer
What is Lyle?
Lyle is a rigid, wood-look SPC floor in a golden caramel brown tone, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical finish.
Is it waterproof?
Yes — 100% waterproof. A splash at the sink or a dropped glass wipes up without harming Lyle when cleaned promptly; don't leave water standing. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.
How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?
The flooring uses a 20 mil wear layer — roughly 0.51 mm thick — appropriate for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, giving you excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. In everyday use, it's a step up from the standard-duty wear layers.
Will it hold up to daily life?
Lyle has a 20 mil protective layer — thicker than the thin wear layers on entry-level LVT. That's the physical protective film above the print, sealed by finish.
What does the plank surface look like?
Up close, Lyle's surface unfolds in soft, feathered cathedral arches with calm, unhurried edges rather than tight, jagged lines. The knot character stays understated -- small, dark, and set low rather than centered or repeated across every board -- while a fine mineral fleck drifts through the field.
Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?
The acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Lyle is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.
Is it safe for indoor air?
Yes — Lyle carries FloorScore certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.
Will this color work in my room?
Lyle's caramel brown has a golden, honeyed undertone rather than a cool gray one, so it reads warm under most everyday lighting. Because it sits in the medium range, it neither disappears into a dark, moody floor nor washes out pale.

Overview
Lyle shows a flowing cathedral grain, its arches soft and feathered rather than sharp-edged, broken only by a couple of small dark knots low on the board and a light scatter of mineral flecking that keeps the pattern from feeling repetitive. The color is a warm caramel brown with a golden, honeyed depth that leans amber rather than gray. Planks run 9 inches wide by 73 inches long, a full-size format that lets the grain unfold across fewer, longer boards instead of a tight grid of seams. The stone-polymer core is waterproof, so the floor is built for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and other spots where water and daily traffic are a given, and the attached 1mm anti-microbial IXPE pad adds cushion and quiet underfoot. Right for someone who wants a calm, flowing grain with only light, occasional knot character -- if you'd rather have a bolder, high-contrast pattern with heavier knotting throughout, a busier grain option elsewhere in the collection is the better fit.
