What is Tern?

Tern is a wood-look SPC floor built around a soft greige color, with a durable, heavy-traffic wear layer for a simple, carefree finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. The rigid core stands up to everyday surface water — spills, mop water, pet accidents — without swelling or delaminating when wiped up promptly. It won't substitute for fixing a standing leak; dry the floor and the source quickly. Not approved for outdoor installation; keep the subfloor dry before and during install.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Tern features a 20 mil wear layer — which works out to 0.51 mm — built for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, so you get excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It sits at the thicker, harder-wearing end of the range.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Minor scratches on Tern stay low-visibility — faint surface marks rather than the bright white scuff lines a glossy floor shows. The 20 mil wear layer hides minor wear within the printed grain pattern — low visibility, not just high durability.

What does the plank surface look like?

The plank surface carries long, flowing cathedral grain that sweeps gracefully along each board with quiet, understated character. Scattered small knots and fine mineral flecks dot the printed surface, and the variation from board to board stays gentle and even. It is a refined, natural grain - enough movement to feel real, calm enough to run across a large open floor without visual noise.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1mm acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Tern is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?
