What is Farington Oak?

Farington Oak is a waterproof, wood-look WPC floor in a tan-brown tone, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a durable, easy-care finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. The rigid core stands up to everyday surface water — spills, mop water, pet accidents — without swelling or delaminating when wiped up promptly. It won't substitute for fixing a standing leak; dry the floor and the source quickly. Not approved for outdoor installation; keep the subfloor dry before and during install.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Farington Oak features a 20 mil wear layer — measuring about 0.51 mm — well suited to heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, delivering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It's a step up from the standard-duty wear layers in everyday durability.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Minor scratches on Farington Oak stay low-visibility — faint surface marks rather than the bright white scuff lines a glossy floor shows. The 20 mil wear layer hides minor wear within the printed grain pattern — low visibility, not just high durability.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close the Farington Oak plank shows an open cathedral grain, with a wide arched figure sweeping down the center of each board and easing into straighter lines toward the edges. Long dark mineral streaks run with the grain, and the figure shifts gently from board to board so the floor keeps an unrepeating look. Scattered pin knots and a few small knots dot the surface at a moderate density, small enough to read as character rather than busy detail. It is a printed surface over the rigid WPC core, so the pattern stays crisp underfoot from edge to edge.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The attached acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Farington Oak is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Farington Oak carries GREENGUARD Gold certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.

Will this color work in my room?

Farington Oak reads its brightest under the morning daylight that fills its photographed room. With windows letting in bright natural light, the warm brown lifts toward its lighter, sunnier side and the amber undertone comes forward, so the floor feels open and airy rather than heavy. In a room with less daylight it reads a shade deeper and cozier, still clearly a light brown rather than dark. Its warmth pairs easily with soft whites and the fresh green of houseplants, which is why it suits a bright, natural workspace. A warm-white bulb keeps the amber in it, while a cool bulb flattens it a little.
