What is Desert Sunrise?

Desert Sunrise is a waterproof, wood-look SPC floor built around a muted olive-brown color, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. The rigid core stands up to everyday surface water — spills, mop water, pet accidents — without swelling or delaminating when wiped up promptly. It won't substitute for fixing a standing leak; dry the floor and the source quickly. Not approved for outdoor installation; keep the subfloor dry before and during install.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The construction includes a 20 mil wear layer — equal to about 0.51 mm — made for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, so you get excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. In everyday use, it's a step up from the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Minor scratches on Desert Sunrise stay low-visibility — faint surface marks rather than the bright white scuff lines a glossy floor shows. The 20 mil wear layer hides minor wear within the printed grain pattern, so day-to-day marks blend in rather than standing out.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close the plank shows a flowing cathedral grain that loops and sweeps rather than running dead straight, with a quiet feathered figure across the face. Sparse pin knots and a few small fissures break up the pattern here and there, and a faint mineral marking adds depth without drawing the eye. It is a printed wood-look surface, so the grain repeats gently from board to board and stays even underfoot.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1.8mm Bio Guard anti-bacterial EVA acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Desert Sunrise is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Will this color work in my room?

In soft, even light this warm olive-brown reads calm and slightly muted, its khaki undertones staying gentle rather than turning yellow. Without direct sun the medium tone deepens a touch, which suits a focused home office where you want the floor to recede instead of compete.
