What is Coastal Sand?

Coastal Sand is a wood-look SPC floor in a warm greige tone, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Powder-room splashes, daily wet feet, and towel drops wipe up without harm when cleaned promptly. Indoor use only — not for installation inside showers or wet rooms, and outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The surface is topped by a 20 mil wear layer — measuring about 0.51 mm — appropriate for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, offering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. In everyday use, it's a step up from the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Kitchen stress test: dropped cutlery, pans slid from oven to counter, refrigerator casters, and dishwasher spray — Coastal Sand's 20 mil wear layer and finish handle the spills, dropped pots, and dragged stools of daily kitchen use, and wipe clean with a vinyl-safe cleaner.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close the plank surface shows long, sweeping figure that travels almost the full length of the board rather than gathering into tight peaks. Dark mineral streaking traces along that figure, and small knots with dark centers scatter at a moderate pace across the face. The printed wood-look surface changes from one board to the next, so the run reads natural and varied rather than a repeating pattern.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

There's no separate underlayment to buy and no pad to choose. Coastal Sand's factory-attached 2mm solution EVA acoustic pad comes bonded to every plank and dampens footfall noise throughout the home — one less material decision and one less install step.

Will this color work in my room?

Coastal Sand reads as a warm, sandy neutral in bright daylight, when the taupe warmth comes forward and the floor feels sunlit and relaxed. In softer or lower light the silver undertone steps up and the whole tone cools a little, staying quiet and composed. That warm-to-cool range lets Coastal Sand sit comfortably with both warm, earthy palettes and cooler coastal blues and whites.
