Countryside Collection — 8mm SPC (Republic Floor)

The Countryside Collection is Republic Floor’s 8mm SPC line at Kapriz Hardwood Floors, built on a genuine stone polymer core with a 20 mil wear layer and a 1.5mm Bioguardian anti-bacterial acoustic EVA pad pre-attached to every plank. Planks measure 9″ × 60″ and lock together with an angle-drop click-lock system for a straightforward floating installation over plywood, OSB, or concrete. Three colors — American Hornbeam, Aspen, and Eastern Cottonwood — move from a light grey through light brown and medium beige. Each carton covers 37.4 sq ft, among the highest per-carton coverage in the Republic Floor lineup, so fewer cartons are needed to finish a room. Countryside is FloorScore certified, backed by a 25-Year Residential / 10-Year Commercial warranty, and available to order through our Santa Clara showroom.

Colors in the Countryside Collection

Countryside’s three colors span a light, neutral range: American Hornbeam leads with a light grey tone for a cool, contemporary look, Aspen brings a light brown warmth without going dark, and Eastern Cottonwood sits in between as a medium beige. The range suits a bright, window-heavy room as easily as one that wants a touch more warmth underfoot, and every plank shares the same 20 mil wear layer and construction regardless of color.

Best uses for Countryside Collection

  • Kitchens — the SPC core is 100% waterproof with no soak-time limit, so spills and standing water at the sink or dishwasher aren’t a risk.
  • Bathrooms — the same waterproof core plus tight angle-drop click-lock seams hold up to splash zones around tubs and showers.
  • Basements — rated for above, on, and below-grade installation, going straight over a concrete slab with the required moisture barrier.
  • High-traffic and pet households — the 20 mil wear layer and rigid stone core resist scuffs, claw traffic, and daily wear.
  • Radiant-heat rooms — compatible with hydronic and embedded radiant systems as long as the floor’s surface temperature stays at or below 85 degrees F.
  • Larger rooms and open layouts — 37.4 sq ft cartons cover more floor per box, so fewer cartons and less packaging waste to finish the job.

Choosing a color from the Countryside Collection

Aspen opens up a room with limited natural light and pairs well with darker cabinetry, while Eastern Cottonwood’s medium beige grounds a bright, sun-filled space without going dark, and American Hornbeam’s light grey works as a neutral middle ground for a more contemporary kitchen or bath. Because screens shift undertones, bring your cabinet or trim sample into our Santa Clara showroom and compare Countryside planks in person before ordering.

Frequently asked questions about the Countryside Collection

Is Countryside SPC actually waterproof?
Yes. The stone polymer core is 100% waterproof with no soak-time limit, and every seam locks with the angle-drop click system, which is why the collection is rated for kitchens and bathrooms.
Can Countryside go over radiant heat?
Yes — Countryside is compatible with hydronic and embedded radiant systems as long as the floor’s surface temperature stays at or below 85 degrees F.
Can I install Countryside myself?
Yes. It’s a floating click-lock floor — no glue or nails — that installs over plywood, OSB, concrete, or an existing fully-adhered hard-surface floor, starting left to right with end joints staggered at least 6″.
Do I need an underlayment or moisture barrier?
No separate underlayment is needed or permitted — the 1.5mm Bioguardian acoustic EVA pad is pre-attached to every plank. The one exception is over concrete, where a 6-mil poly vapor barrier is mandatory under the flooring.
How much Countryside do I need per carton?
Each carton covers 37.4 sq ft — one of the highest per-carton coverages in the Republic Floor lineup, so fewer cartons are needed for the same room. Measure the room, add roughly 10% for cuts and waste, and our Santa Clara team can help you total the cartons for the job.
