Scratch Shield-LG6 — 6.5mm SPC Vinyl Plank (Lago Flooring)

Scratch Shield-LG6 is Lago’s slimmer-profile SPC line, built around the Super Scratch & Stain Shield Tech™ finish that gives the collection its name. A rigid SPC core carries a pre-attached acoustic pad, so the 9″ x 60″ planks float into place with a Uniclic® angle-and-snap click and no separate underlayment to buy. The 3 colors are all warm-toned, from very light beige through honey and light brown. Every plank is FloorScore and GREENGUARD certified and backed by a lifetime residential warranty, available to order through our Santa Clara showroom.

Colors in the Scratch Shield-LG6

This is Lago’s smallest color run, and every one of the three runs warm: a very light beige (Bandon), a light brown (Bay Shore) and a honey-gold tone (Miami). There are no cool grays in this line, so it suits a room you want to keep consistently warm rather than a space where you’re trying to offset warm cabinetry or trim.

Best uses for Scratch Shield-LG6

  • Pet households — the Scratch Shield finish is built to resist everyday scratching and staining.
  • Kitchens & bathrooms — the waterproof core shrugs off mopping and everyday spills.
  • High-traffic hallways & entries — a durable finish where shoes and daily foot traffic wear a floor fastest.
  • Basements & below-grade rooms — rated for above, on, and below-grade installation.

Choosing a color from the Scratch Shield-LG6

With only three warm colors to choose from, the decision usually comes down to how light or dark you want the room to read — Bandon for the brightest floor, Bay Shore or Miami for more visual warmth against light walls or cabinetry. See a sample under your own lighting before you order; our Santa Clara showroom team can also cross-check the dye lot against what you saw.

Frequently asked questions about the Scratch Shield-LG6

What does the Scratch Shield finish actually do?
It’s Lago’s scratch-and-stain surface technology, applied across both Scratch Shield collections. Lago positions it as protection against everyday scratches and stains in residential and commercial settings; a specific mil rating isn’t published in the readable supplier documents, so we don’t state one.
How is Scratch Shield-LG6 different from Scratch Shield-LG8?
LG6 is the thinner build at 6.5mm total on a 5mm core, with 3 colors. LG8 steps up to 8.5mm on a 7mm core with a stated 20 mil wear layer and 12 colors. Both share the same finish, click system and pre-attached pad.
Can I install this floor myself?
Yes — it’s a floating floor. Click the planks together over the pre-attached underlayment; don’t glue or nail them down. Confirm your subfloor is clean, dry and flat to within 3/16″ over 10 feet, and leave a 1/4″ expansion gap at the walls.
Do I need a separate underlayment?
No. Scratch Shield-LG6 ships with a 1.5mm acoustic pad already attached to each plank. Adding a second underlayment underneath can void the warranty.
Can I get a sample before I order?
Yes — order a sample or visit our Santa Clara showroom to see all three colors in person and cross-check the dye lot before you commit.
