Quick Answer

What is Madison?

Madison is a waterproof, wood-look SPC floor in a light tan-brown tone, with a durable, heavy-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. A splash at the sink or a dropped glass wipes up without harming Madison when cleaned promptly; don't leave water standing. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Madison is protected by a 20 mil wear layer — equal to about 0.51 mm — designed for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, giving you excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. In everyday use, it's a step up from the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Madison has a 20 mil protective layer — thicker than the thin wear layers on entry-level LVT. That's the physical protective film above the print, sealed by finish.

What does the plank surface look like?

Look closely at a single Madison plank and the wave keeps shifting -- it crests high on one board, flattens out on the next, so no two lengths of floor repeat the exact same rhythm. Soft mineral clouding drifts through parts of the surface, taking the hard edge off the wave. A small pin knot shows up on some boards and not others -- sparse, and always modest in size.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Madison is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Madison carries FloorScore certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.

Will this color work in my room?

Madison's tan-brown base has enough golden warmth to stay true in both bright and softer light, without swinging as cool or flat as a true greige can. It reads as a genuine light brown rather than a washed-out neutral, so it pairs easily with white, cream, or soft grey walls.

Overview

Madison's face is built around motion: the grain rolls in a long, side-to-side wave that runs the length of each plank, occasionally softened by clouds of mineral shading that blur the wave's edge. A handful of small, sparse pin knots sit low in the field, breaking up the wave without turning the surface busy. The base tone is a warm light brown -- closer to tan than to caramel -- lifted by gentle golden undertones that keep it from reading flat. The embossed surface texture follows that same movement, so the plank feels the way it looks rather than running independent of the print. GemCore's long-format plank gives the wave real room to run, which is part of why it reads as continuous motion instead of a pattern that resets every board. Because that movement reads best with distance to travel, Madison suits open living and dining areas, great rooms, and other larger, open footprints rather than small, broken-up rooms. Right for someone who wants visible motion and grain interest underfoot -- if you'd rather a calmer, more even face where the grain stays quiet board to board, look for a straighter-grained color instead.

The grain doesn't reset from board to board -- it rolls, wave after wave, down the full length of each plank.

Frequently asked questions

Will it match my cabinets?
Because Madison's tan-brown has a warm, golden cast rather than a grey or ashy one, it pairs cleanly with warm wood-tone cabinets -- oak, maple, warm walnut -- and it also sits well against white or cream cabinetry.
Will it still look this bright in a windowless basement?
In a windowless or low-light room, a warm light brown like Madison keeps more of its warmth than a cooler or darker floor would -- the golden undertone stops it from reading flat or grey under artificial light alone.
