Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Built for daily life: mop-and-go cleaning, occasional spills, and pet accidents wiped up promptly; clean standing water quickly. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The plank features a 20 mil wear layer — about 0.51 mm — appropriate for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, delivering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. That's a step above the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Office chair wheels, spike-heel point loads, and dragged furniture all concentrate force. Ferndown Oak's 20 mil wear layer plus 12mm rigid WPC core manages this better than laminate — WPC resists crush-indent where laminate high-density fiberboard would dent permanently.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close the Ferndown Oak plank stays understated. The straight grain travels the full length of the board, clean and orderly, with only a restrained cathedral figure rising here and there instead of a big swirl. A couple of small knots and a scatter of faint mineral flecks give the surface a little natural texture without crowding it, and because the knotting is sparse and small, the boards read consistent rather than rustic. The plank's wood-tone print stays low in contrast, so a whole floor of Ferndown Oak looks even and unfussy up close.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The attached acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Ferndown Oak is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?
